Job Details

Due to a period of change in the business an opportunity has arisen for a Revenue Accountant to join the business on a 9 month contract. This will suit a candidate with an analytical mindset that possesses advanced Excel skills.

My client are a highly ethical business that are well established in Gloucestershire and have a strong presence in their field of expertise.

Description

The main responsibilities in this role:

  • Creating automated revenue assurance reporting on a monthly basis to deliver insightful analysis
  • Own the revenue assurance process challenging the business on its performance in minimising the gap between volume recognised by industry and what the company has billed
  • Act as primary contact with the team who calculate revenue recognition, including project managing data processing
  • Act as line manager for 2 analysts to support them through their apprenticeship and in their career development
  • Assist in maintaining and improving data storage and reporting to ensure consistent data provision across the business on key revenue and gross margin KPIs
  • Providing insightful analysis in respect of revenue and gross margin, identifying and driving change in areas for improvement across the business
  • Taking the lead in managing the finance system to ensure data structures and rules are working correctly, helping resolve issues raised by the wider team and enabling further development and testing of new features in the system. This will be done by supporting and coaching one of the MI analysts who is the finance system lead

Profile

Candidate profile:

  • Advanced SQL, Power BI, Power Query knowledge
  • Experience working with large data sets from a variety of sources
  • Financial Analytical skills, including ability to review and comment on revenue KPIs
