Role: Management Accountant (with study support)
Reports to: Finance Director

About us:
Inclusion Group is looking to recruit a Management Accountant to a newly created role due to the companies continued expansion, with flexible working arrangements partly at home and head office in York.  This is an ideal position for a part qualified accountant looking to further their career and complete professional qualifications.  Working closely with the Finance Director you will be responsible for providing business partnering financial support to the operations team .

Key Relationships
•    External: Business partners, auditors & regulator of social Housing
•    Internal: Executive team and wider staff team, residents, and the community

Job Purpose - To support the Finance Director to:
•    Provide financial leadership for Inclusion to support strategic objectives
•    Provide support to all business partners, colleagues and the executive team enabling them to make sound business decisions 
•    Manage and oversee the delivery of effective and efficient financial services
•    Provide Colleagues with accurate, relevant, and timely financial information
•    Co-ordinate and liaise with operational teams to ensure timely and effective budgetary planning and monitoring
•    Ensure the financial practices are in line with all statutory legislation and regulation 
•    Promote excellent performance management and excellence approach generally across the company

Specific Duties although not limited to:


Management Accounts 
•    Complete a section of the Inclusion Housing monthly management accounts comprising, all
•    service charges, bad debt provision, self-insurance calculations and charges for support 
•    services.
•    Compile a monthly utility report to assist in controlling costs.
•    First Level authoriser – Council tax invoices.
•    Undertake reconciliations and upkeep of the financial records to support the integrity of
•    the balance sheets.
•    Provide business partnering service to Operations Director through monthly budget
•    monitoring meetings. 
•    Provide business partnering services to the wider operations team. 
•    Working collaboratively with the wider finance team in the publication of the management
•    accounts. 
•    Agree annual Rent uplifts - through suppling evidence based calculations
•    Lead on annual service charge element of the rent & service charge review. 
•    Prepare the annual budget associated with service charge expenditure.
•    Key Internal & External audit contact for service charge expenditure. 

Health and Safety 
•    To work within Inclusion’s Health and Safety policies and procedures

Customer Service  
•    Provide a customer-focused service ensuring service delivery is consistent with target response times 
•    Ensure that all tenants and residents contacting Inclusion on revenue or associated housing management issues receive an efficient response to their enquiry 
•    Provide prompt and efficient responses to informal customer complaints about revenue management issues, dealing effectively with stage one complaints 

Performance Management & Data Analysis 
•    Specify, develop and run new reports and update existing ones in a variety of formats and software. 
•    To analyse income and revenue performance management information and use data to drive improvement and contribute to proposals for remedial action; and
•    To help colleagues use reports and to develop and monitor performance targets

Other Duties:
•    Manage personal workload and responding to changing priorities and personal objectives 
•    Keep up to date with key legislative and policy changes within the sector
•    Occasionally attend evening meetings some of which may be away from the office
•    Implement and promote Inclusion’s Equality & Diversity Policy and Health & Safety Policy and related procedures
•    Any other related duties as assigned by the Finance Director that are commensurate with the general level of responsibility of this post
•    To comply with Terms and Conditions of service 
•    To comply with Financial Regulations 

Person Specification
1.    Experience of:
•    Production of monthly management accounts
•    Working in a finance department (minimum 2 years’ experience)
2.    Evidence of training and continuing professional development
3.    Experience of using MS Reporting Services
4.    Experience of producing financial & performance data
5.    Excellent numeracy
6.    Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel
7.    Ability to analyse and understand complex problems and information and help develop appropriate solutions that command support
8.    Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) to a range of audiences and influence them (including summarising complex issues simply)
9.    Able to plan, organise and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines and targets
10.    Awareness of the key challenges facing housing companies and their residents

Qualifications 
•    Education to a GCSE/A ‘Level 
•    Degree awarded (Desirable)
•    A certified part qualified (ACCA, CIMA,CIPFA,ICAEW ) 
o    Study support available to complete accountancy qualifications
