An opportunity has arisen to join the business and be part of the Gippsland Line Upgrade project with VicConnect (an Alliance between UGL, Decmil, ARUP, RPV and V/Line) for an experienced Project Accountant based at South Wharf. The RoleDecmil are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to assist with the day to day operations of the Gippsland Line Upgrade project. This role will see you predominantly provide F&A support to meet the service delivery demands for the contract and you will work closely with the Alliance Management team to ensure project success. Duties will include but not limited to: Assist the Project Director and Alliance Management team to analyse financial and project information, identify opportunities/risks and recommend improvements. Run the month end process in an efficient and timely manner, complying with time schedules as per set deadlines Participate in regular contract reviews with the project team and provide required input, advice and insights into contract performance, improvement opportunities and status of initiatives. Complete F&A related activities including financial analysis to support operational decisions and performance, month-end close, forecasting, reporting and complex billing across the contract. Develop and maintain a solid and detailed knowledge of the standard end to end processes and systems, including handover points with other functions and understands differences in application of the standard processes for the contracts. Proactively identify and recommend solutions to improve processes. RequirementsTo secure this opportunity we are seeking someone who meets the below; Significant people, process and systems experience in finance and operations is essential Qualified accountant with 5 years' progressively responsible experience for a major construction company or a similar type of project accountant role that demonstrates detailed knowledge of project accounting. Proven experience in leading teams and inspiring high levels of employee engagement. Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated analytical and financial acumen in project accounting. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal The ability to work flexibly, able to travel and adaptively managing multiple stakeholders Dynamic, passionate, energetic, resilience with a positive attitude and outlook. Ability to manage complexity and work in a joint venture environment. ProjectThe Gippsland Line Upgrade scope of works includes signaling works, level crossing and pedestrian crossing upgrades, new station platforms, track and civil works, track duplication, bridge and culvert improvements and other maintenance access track works and walkway upgrades.
