This dynamic and widely known practice has operated right across QLD and NSW for over 30 years, with multiple branches and other subsidiaries, they are one of the largest accounting firms in the region. The business owns and operates a number of different businesses enabling staff to gain exposure to industry which they absolutely wouldn't get with any other firm; this business has really dominated in rural areas and are heavily entrenched with agriculture and related industry. The bulk of their client base is made up of long-term blue-chip businesses and are generally made up of groups of companies. The business has done extremely well to retain their workforce with most of their accounting team spending on average 5 - 10 years with the organisation so there is plenty of career progression throughout head office and at a branch level.

Position

This senior-level position will work from head office but will also have the flexibility to work from home or remotely. The business as a whole has an extremely tightly knit team so while finding someone with a strong accounting background is important, culture is by far the key focus when recruiting.

• Preparation of Financial Statements & Tax Returns for a range of clients across various sectors & size
• Liaising with & providing accurately & timely advice to clients on a range of business matters
• Providing technical advice on various tax issues including division 7A and capital gains tax
• Working with client files on multiple software packages including; MYOB, Xero & Quickbooks
• Providing strategies to clients in relation to budgeting, tax planning & cash flow planning

What you will need to succeed

• A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 3+ years' experience in a public practice environment
• CA/CPA/CIMA qualification **Ideally**
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to effectively build strong relationships
