Job Details

You will be working with an existing Management Accountant and supporting the Financial Controller with the production of the monthly management accounts, maintenance of MI and reporting systems, assist with the annual statutory accounts and audit, work in progress valuations and produce cash flow reports. Will also include assisting the Financial Controller with all aspects of accounting, tax, and financial management.

Description

  • Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and draft covering commentary.
  • Production of income recognition calculations for WIP/AROC on a monthly basis.
  • Production of balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Reconciliation of all control accounts on a regular basis.
  • Reconciliation of inter-company accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Provide cover for monthly inter-company invoicing.
  • Detailed variance analysis of people related costs and FTEs including reporting on resource deployment within the firm to cover Members, Employees, Contractors, Outsourced Resource and Temporary Resource, and reconciling the same to HR system records.
  • Work closely with the firm's Systems Accountant to maintain reporting models and programs.
  • Maintenance of individual and team fee earner targets for performance metrics such as chargeable hours and fee targets, reconciling on a regular / monthly basis to base performance information sources.
  • Preparation of partner and lawyer personal performance statistics.
  • Ad hoc MI related queries using MS SQL and / or advanced Excel / macros as required.
  • Preparation and analysis of ONS, legal sector survey and competitor performance benchmark performance information.
  • Assist with the production of the firm's annual budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain and update the firm's budget and profitability models.
  • Produce monthly expenditure and head count reports for budget holders.
  • Support the regular meetings with budget holders to discuss variances.
  • Produce ad hoc investment appraisal calculations as required.
  • Support the firm's Programme Board with project costing updated.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly cash flow reports.
  • Produce variance analysis of cash flows.
  • Assist with funding applications as required.

Profile

  • Advanced Excel modelling skills.
  • Experience of using MS SQL is a must and experience of data extraction and querying would be an advantage.
  • Experience of developing and deployment Management Information (MI) dashboards.
  • Experience of working with Qliksense MI would be an advantage.
  • An understanding of MS Power BI would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working with Elite 3E would be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and a natural ability to spot erroneous outcomes.
  • The ability to clearly communicate in writing.
  • Working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Strong double entry bookkeeping skills.
