Accounts Payable Specialist
Summary:

  • Our long-standing client in Bridgeport is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team. This role is open due to a growth opportunity for an internal employee, who will still be available for training!
  • Report into the Assistant Controller and act as the sole AP person for this team.
  • 100% on-site with a warm and welcoming group of 6.
  • Core work hours are 8-4:30PM, Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Collect and record Vendors & Suppliers invoices in the ERP system
  • Process payments on a weekly basis
  • Reconcile Suppliers monthly statements
  • Record weekly bank transactions
  • Monthly credit card reconciliations
  • Process employee expense reports
  • Review and submit invoice batches before final billing
  • Maintain petty cash
  • Update vendor's records in the ERP system
  • File, distribute mail and perform other administrative/clerical tasks
  • Assist with Accounts Receivable tasks when needed
  • Assist with Month-End accounting process

Qualifications:
  • BS/BA required in a related field
  • 2+ years' experience in accounting
  • Microsoft Office experience with strong Excel skills
  • ERP experience, Sage preferred
