Junior Accountant

CFS has partnered with a local food distribution company looking to add a Junior Accountant to their busy Accounting team!

The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller and accounting staff of one of their main Distribution Centers.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with billing and adjustments
• Issues Credits to accounts post adjustments
• Payroll for Trucking Vendor
• Performs journal entries
• Makes transfers, billings and deposits to various accounts
• Sets up loans for customer accounts
• Assists with duties in the cage; creating cash receipts and transmitting checks
• Closes balances on House accounts
• Process house orders for employees
• Files and pulls invoices
• Processes return items

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or 2 years related experience in accounting
• Detailed-oriented, highly organized individual with a great attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Strong PC skills, MS Office suite including Excel required.
• Familiarity with JD Edwards is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work effectively with associates at varying levels across the Company.
• Ability to work independently and with a team with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
