Professional Requirements

Position Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for the day to day operations in general accounting and the coordination of month-end closing of the general ledger and to provide general support back-up for Controller.
  • Supervising Accounting Department insuring that all accountants are properly trained and that work is distributed effieciently and equitably.
  • Insuring that all accruals and recurring journal entries are posted correctly and timely.
  • Bringing any omission or inconsistency which may impact the integrity of the financial statements to the attention of the Controller/CFO immediately.
  • Working with AP Supervisor to implement and maintain Internal Control Procedures in Accounts Payable.
  • Maintaining manual checks for Accounts Payable and Payroll.
  • Assisting in preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensuring and verify intercompany/intrafacility accounts are balanced at month-end.
  • Assisting in compilation of Medicare Year End Cost Report information.
  • Assisting in compilation of OSHPD Year End Reports information.
  • Assisting in budget preparartion-supplying required analysis and/or schedules.
  • Interacting and coordinating with vendors, staff and in-house departments.
  • Participating in coordinating and compiling required information by outside/inside auditors.
  • Completing other assignments and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Controller/Controller/CFO.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a major in Accounting or two years (Associate's Degree)

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Healthcare and Financial Applications
  • Knowledge of Internal Control Procedures
  • Computer Skills-proficient in Excel

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
  • Fire Card
