The Company:

We are working exclusively with our client who is a leading energy and utility giant on an exciting Payroll Team Leader opportunity. The purpose of this position is to lead a payroll team to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payments to all employees and to drive excellence and continuous improvement in HR/Payroll systems and processes.

Role responsibilities:
  • Lead a payroll team to ensure efficient, timely and accurate payments to all employees in accordance with statutory and legislative requirements, including the operational aspects of salary disbursement, overpayment recovery, leave management and reporting.
  • Effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business as well as external providers to ensure that all employees are paid on time and accurately.
  • Develop and implement payroll/system policies and procedures in line with statutory and legislative requirements.
  • Drive excellence and continuous improvement in HR/Payroll systems and processes, taking into account relevant benchmarked and peer group data.
  • Provide payroll transactional services and operational support to all entities across the Jemena Business
  • Mentoring and leading the payroll team
  • Drive Compliance with good corporate governance for payroll
  • Provide and promote service excellence, continuous improvement and foster effective teamwork and business relationships
About you:
  • Tertiary qualifications in an HR/Finance or Accounting discipline preferred but not a must
  • You must have experience managing a Payroll team of a complex, multi-site organisation with several enterprise agreements
  • Strong understanding of all relevant legislations, ATO regulations, FBT & Superannuation legislation
  • Proven application of legislative requirements and deliverables: PAYG, Payroll Tax, Superannuation
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply collective agreements and EBAs
  • Preferred detailed knowledge/experience SAP/HRIS
  • Thorough understanding and ability to work across multiple industrial agreements
