The position supports the Systems Accounting Team in maintaining the integrity of financial data and the financial system, assists with closing the systems to enable preparation of the monthly results (trial balance data feed) to the Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) and assists with the month end system accounting processes.
The position also assists in preparing financial schedules to support the accounting for leave liabilities, monthly reconciliation of the State Administration Unit, identifying and recommending process or system improvements and assisting with maintaining the financial system.
Great teamwork, attention to detail, good analytical skills, effective communication and a customer focus are necessary.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

* Studies in accounting, finance or commerce.
* Entry requirements to the CA or CPA.
* A good working knowledge of government accounting, including the Financial Management Act and how departmental data feeds to DTF.
* Knowledge of financial systems with experience in Oracle desirable.
