The Senior Finance Manager is a financial control and technical accounting focused role and a key member of Arch LMI's Finance Team, which is responsible for a variety of functions including strategy and analysis, monitoring, accounting and reporting. Primary duties of the Senior Finance Manager include, but are not limited to:
  • Interpretation and implementation of new accounting standards (eg IFRS17)
  • Assessing accounting impacts arising from product design changes
  • Supporting Financial Statement production and other regulatory reporting
  • Developing Sarbanes Oxley control documentation and implementation plans
  • Assisting with the onboarding of new clients, including impact assessments on finance processes
  • Contributing to Group reporting as and when required
  • Stream lead for general ledger replacement project
  • Participation in ad-hoc project work as required, as a subject matter expert


The Senior Finance Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Arch LMI.

  • Develop and continuously evaluate short and long-term qualitative and quantitative strategic objectives
  • Evaluate the potential business impact of regulatory change (including change arising from new projects/ strategies, statutory or regulatory reforms, changes to GAAP, etc).
  • Prepare financial statements and regulatory returns as required.
  • Manage and respond to information requests from internal and external auditors as required.
  • Work with other Arch Capital Group companies to ensure compliance with inter-company arrangements, and to provide other ad-hoc assistance as required.
  • Assist with daily, weekly, monthly and annual Finance processes (including statutory, regulatory and management reporting) as required.
  • Ensure financial policy and internal control compliance is maintained
  • Prepare financial analyses and dashboards as required by the CFO, senior management and Board.
  • Provide insight into operational performance through in-depth analyses of financial reports.


  • Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong analytical, monitoring and reporting skills
  • Ability to work with and interpret complex financial data
  • Expert knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and/or US GAAP
  • Proficiency in regulatory capital standards
  • Insurance industry experience preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives
  • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to address broad range of audiences including directors, senior management, external stakeholders and technical experts
  • Proven ability to work with and handle personal and confidential information with absolute discretion
  • Focus on client and customer service
  • Strong inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team
  • Unquestionable integrity and moral compass
  • Strong intellectual curiosity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Power BI and advanced Excel skills. Anaplan knowledge desirable


  • Education & Experience:
  • Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience (5 years post-qualification)
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA) is required.

  • This role has been classified as hybrid per the Arch Flexible Work Arrangement assessment process. To ensure continued collaboration, innovation and other essential elements of the Arch culture are sustained, this role must operate from the Arch LMI office 3 days per week. The 2 remaining days may be worked remotely in a location with adequate internet connections, security controls and an ergonomic workspace.
