High profile retail organisation is need of a payroll officer to join their vibrant team either full or part time.
About the role This retail organisation is looking for an ambitious Payroll Specialist to join their growing employee workforce. The purpose of the role is to complete and oversee payroll process for Retail, Head Office and Warehouses, within required timeframe and according to prevailing legislation. There is roughly 4,000 employees on this payroll, and this is an initial 6 month FTC with the view permanency, that could be either full time or part time.

The Responsibilities

• Process weekly time sheets, including; overtime, casuals
• Process staff movements including new starters, departures and other movements
• Interpret retail award as well as general employment proficiencies
• Analyse and report back tracked data
• Preparing manual payments when required
• Respond to all customer queries (face to face, telephone, email)
• Apply payroll knowledge, knowledge of company policies and procedures and problem solving skills to provide a quality response
• Assisting Finance team on queries and reports

The successful applicant will have

• Previous experience in a retail environment would be an advantage but not a must
• Previous experience using a large payroll system, Micropay would be an advantage
• Experience with retail awards
• Strong Excel and numeracy skills is very important
• Excellent communication skills
