Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently working on a rare & exciting opportunity with a reputable manufacturing business based in Lincoln who are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join their finance team, on a full time permanent basis!
This is a fantastic opportunity for a knowledgeable Finance Assistant to join a fun, friendly team to provide extensive support across the finance function including; purchase ledger across 3 companies, sales ledger, credit control & raising of manual invoices and cash allocations. They want someone who is ambitious and passionate about wanting to secure a career in accounts and full study support can be given if required.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
* Purchase Ledger duties including obtaining authorisation for invoices, chasing and resolving queries
* Posting of approved invoices and generating payment runs
* Uploading of payment runs to the bank
* Raising of customer invoices
* Allocation of cash receipts to invoices
* Produce statements and ensure cash collection
* Reporting on debt statuses and attending debt meetings
* Building relationships with customers
* Taking debit and credit card payments
* Preparing cheques received for banking
* New accounts to be set up in line with company policies
* Raise and issue credit notes and manual invoices once authorised
Skills required:
* Working knowledge of Microsoft programmers (Excel & Word required)
* Comfortable using standard accounting software packages
* Ability to form relationships within the business (especially Finance, Customer Services and Retail)
* Strive to improve the role through better process and automation
* A desire to be trained in other aspects of the accounts department to assist in busy periods or to cover absence
