Leading funds management company seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the team.
Our client is a leading independent global investment management firms, dedicated to delivering an investment experience that helps people get more out of life. Managing over $2 trillion in assets our client has a truly global presence. This role will report into the Senior Corporate Accountant and will provide support to the global finance team. The role will focus on operational accounting duties including general ledger maintenance, P&L reporting, payroll preparation along with supporting the offshore team.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Providing financial advice to Senior Corporate Accountant including monthly financial results for the newly established Australia subsidiary;
  • Assisting with group reporting including monthly APAC regional Finance and also group tax and compliance;
  • Preparation and lodgement of FBT Returns, Workcover and Payroll Tax;
  • Assisting in month end journal posting and reconciliation procedures such as blackline reconciliations;
  • Timely monitoring month end accounting close off procedures to ensure the outsourced tasks performed by Hyderabad and US are at a satisfactory level;
  • Responsible for monthly & year end payroll processes, including entering the pay data, leave records, pay rises, bonus, super and payroll report checking;
  • Assisting in annual forecasting/budgeting exercise including Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (EPBCS) input responsibility;
  • Working with local business partners, global finance colleagues and Invesco's accounts payable team in Hyderabad for all AP related inquiries and organising manual payments for urgent AP invoices as required; AND
  • Other Finance projects, administrative and ad-hoc tasks as required;
WORK EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Relevant practical experience within an accounting environment;
  • Experience using Oracle would be advantageous;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel;
  • Highly numerate and organised;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Team-player who is friendly, open and keen to collaborate and learn from others;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Professional and committed to high standards;
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Flexible, proactive with can-do attitude, able to use own initiative; AND
  • Adaptable to change;
