About the role

The NZ Police Finance Team is part of the wider Corporate Operations business group, providing support and advice to enable more than 14,000 employees, including over 2000 managers and leaders.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will lead a team of six to eight Senior Business Managers (Business Partners) who are based at Police premises around the country.

The position is a senior leadership role within Finance, providing trusted financial advice which goes beyond the numbers. You will lead your team to deliver high quality, robust advice and insight into the financial performance of, and opportunities for, Police to deliver on its strategic priorities. This role will require high levels of flexibility, resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to work with a range of senior Police stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities
To be successful in the of Finance Business Partnering role you will:
* Champion excellent customer service; * be a self-starter; and * have a high level of initiative along with the ability to be self-managing and achievement oriented.
You will also be able to demonstrate:

* Demonstrable experience as a people manager working in complex, high-pressure and enterprise-level organisations, preferably within government. * Relevant tertiary qualification and preferably holding qualified Chartered Accountant status with CAANZ or similar professional qualification body. * A background in Finance leadership is preferred but not essential
