We are looking for an awesome Assistant Accountant to join our growing team alongside other entrepreneurial and commercially minded rockstars. This permanent, full-time opportunity plays an important role in the day-to-day bookkeeping for our internal advisory divisions as well as the on-boarding of clients in our BlueRock Books division.

What you'll be doing
  • Maintaining the general ledger, including regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts
  • Assisting with month-end responsibilities including Profit & Loss / Balance Sheet reconciliations, journal entries and payroll reconciliations
  • Cash flow preparation and maintenance
  • Preparation of Activity Statements, Payroll Tax, Workcover and other statutory reporting requirements
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assisting in set up of new internal divisions, including set-up of Xero files
  • Assisting in set up of new BlueRock clients, including set-up of Xero files, bank accounts and business registrations

Requirements

We want to hear from people who have:
  • Relevant degree or diploma (major in Accounting or Bookkeeping)
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Prior experience with Xero Accounting software and an intermediate to advanced level in the full Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel and Word
  • Ongoing work rights, we are not able to consider temporary graduate visas or working holidays
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach
