Commercial Accountant (FP&A) | £45,000 - £50,000 (+ Bonus) | | Hybrid Working

Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-moving, rapidly growth company in the Renewable sector. You will play a vital role in the Finance team, adding value and supporting future decision making with commercial reporting an analysis. The role covers a wide range of duties including analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and the management of future projects, therefore, it would be an ideal for a candidate wanting a true commercial role.

Your new role

As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting commercial decisions, including lease / buy decisions, pricing on bids and tenders, and much more.
  • Responsible for the reporting and optimisation of the subsidiary, while tracking the financial position against target, forecasting price and volumes, and developing new strategies.
  • Validating the subsidiary's income at month end and understand site performance.
  • Producing financial models, providing effective guidance in business planning.
  • Work closely with the business development team to explore new opportunities.
  • Delivering insightful MI and decision support to improve performance.
  • Producing ad hoc analysis, including financial modelling
  • Managing projects, analysing the cost base, revenue line and understanding the profitability of different assets, making commercial recommendations to drive the business forward.
  • Producing forecasts, budgets and models to provide key insights into performance.
  • Comparing and analysing operational and financial performance of each site and identifying areas of improvement. Supporting future M&A activity.
  • Supporting month-end reporting and accounts, as necessary.


What you'll need to succeed

To be the successful candidate, you will need to have / be:

  • Part / Fully Qualified or By Experience
  • Experience Business Partner with senior stakeholders, to identifying business issues and performance improvements.
  • Experience managing financial models to support investment decisions and PIA.
  • Experience of using a variety of software, and the skills to pick them up quickly
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience producing commercial information from large data
  • Experience using Power BI is desirable
