About the company:

Our client is a respected insurance provider offering its clients a range of competitive and community-orientated services and products while undergoing a multi-year transformation program, resulting in this new role within a close-knit and collaborative team.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, the Assurance Lead will be responsible for improving a comprehensive risk and quality strategy while ensuring the day-to-day oversight of regulatory requirements are compliant and meet best practice standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build a thorough risk and quality assurance program to enhance client operations;
  • Monitor quality control and compliance assurance across all functions;
  • Implement testing and monitoring processes and controls to maintain service delivery are of best practice standards;
  • Review and record audit findings and other quality assurance activities for executing corrective actions and systems;
  • Support the leadership team to develop and assist operational guidelines and risk management priorities in ensuring the reliability of processes and procedures;
  • Regularly collaborate with key stakeholders on reporting compliance and key performance metrics AND
  • Support team culture consistent with client's values and objectives.

Technical Skills & Qualifications required include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field or extensive experience in the financial service industry;
  • Has extensive work experience with business process improvement;
  • Knowledgeable in risk management, compliance monitoring, and internal/external audit;
  • Strong understanding of the current regulatory environment, particularly regarding APRA and ASIC;
  • Sound understanding of the Australian Insurance industry, is highly regarded AND
  • Well-developed Microsoft skills (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
