Reporting to the CEO, an opportunity exists for an experienced Chief Finance & Risk Officer to join the organisation on a 12-month fixed term contract. This critical role forms part of the Executive Team and will be responsible for leading the financial, due diligence, governance, and risk management functions during a period of transformation and change. Duties will include:
  • Enabling GPEx to achieve strategic goals with a focus on facilitating innovative, professional, and efficient outcomes
  • Managing the financial statutory requirements of GPEx including Commonwealth acquittal statement and annual financial statement preparation in adherence to Australian Accounting Standards
  • Provide the CEO and Finance Audit and Risk Committee with timely and accurate advice relating to the activities of the Business Plan and evaluate performance against both the strategic plan and budget
  • Ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of GPEx through prudent budget development and review and financial management, maximising efficiencies and advancing technology
  • Conducting financial and risk due diligence on potential organisations for merger or acquisition by GPEx
  • Developing financials and risk assessments for new business, products and or services and contribute to business case development
  • Providing advice on structural changes to the organisation's financial model
  • Leading implementations in partnership with the COO, CTO and other members of the Executive Team
  • Ensuring the organisation complies with legal and constitutional requirements
  • Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure good governance and proactive risk management
  • Leading the development and implementation of relevant business and operational plans and performance measurement that promote accountability and excellence
About you
  • Extensive experience in providing strategic leadership and influencing and leading change in complex organisations
  • Strong business management acumen with a focus on innovative practice
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in building and sustaining relationships with a particular focus on integrating and leading, as well as being part of a team
  • A proficient user of contemporary technology, relevant applications (such as Xero), and platforms for the purpose of enhancing productivity and efficiency within the role
  • The capacity to identify and control risks that fall within the organisation's realm of operations and its sector
  • Strong commitment to the principles underpinning good governance and sound financial management
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
