The Opportunity.

We are a busy and fast paced Finance directorate with the implementation of a new financial management information system imminent. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team and are establishing a pool of suitable applicants.

This is an open pool and we encourage applicants to apply at anytime over a 6 month period. We are always on the lookout for suitable candidates for both long and short -term contracts. This pool process may also be used to fill permanent, fixed term, full time and part time opportunities that arise within this period. Please note, being appointed to the pool does not guarantee your placement to a position.

We currently have one (1) permanent and one (1) fixed term full-time appointment available.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Finance Officer you will undertake day-to-day financial accounting activities of the Financial Operations team including accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate card and debt recovery. You will also assist with other accounting functions such as reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, ad hoc reports and record keeping as required.

Enough about us, let's talk about you.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge and experience in accounts receivables, accounts payable, debt recovery, reconciliations and applications of financial accounting policies and procedures. You will also have experience utilising a Financial Management Information System in a large organisation. You will be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all levels and have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute to the achievement of team goals. You will have excellent analytical skills to be able to identify and solve problems including proposing appropriate solutions when issues arise.

Am I eligible to apply?

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period as part of your application.
