We are looking for a Network Controller Utilities Operations to join our Utilities Operations team at the state-of-the-art Perth operations Centre.

Reporting to the Superintendent Utilities Operations, and working in a stimulating and exciting environment, you will be:
  • Continuously monitoring and managing network security and during contingency events, rapidly develop an appropriate restoration strategy to ensure a safe restoration of supply with minimum delay.
  • Continuously analysing the performance of all aspects of the power network and adapt the operation of the network to optimise network security and lifecycle costs.
  • Coordinating and managing all switching operations to ensure they are carried out in accordance with RTIO Utilities High Voltage Rules and operational procedures.
  • Assist with complex detailed investigations into network disturbances and help diagnose underlying causes.
  • Liaising with OC Pit and Plant Controllers to optimise the load profile by coordinating start-ups and production activity.
  • Contribute to our decarbonisation strategy by assisting in the roll out and then operation of upcoming greenfield Renewable Energy Projects.

What you'll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • C Class Driver's license
  • Good understanding of MS Office
  • Experience in power system operation
  • Experience in power generation

It will also be beneficial if you have:
  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Diploma in ESI Generation (or working toward)
  • High Voltage Officer
  • Experience using SCADA

Where you'll be working

The role will be based in Perth at both the Operations Centre, with flexible working from home arrangements. Our state-of-the-art Operations Centre (OC) located near the Perth domestic airport, operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to coordinate our integrated network of mines, rail, power and ports. It enables all our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location, optimising site activities from 1,500km away.
