Position summary
Our Corporate Services Division is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst on a full-time permanent position, based in Melbourne, VIC. As part of a broader Treasury function, you will support the business with the management and reporting of both financial risks and working capital across the Downer Group.
THE ROLE:
  • Reporting of forecast and actual cash and working capital by business unit (BU).
  • Partner BU to provide insight and identify and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Take ownership of business improvement initiatives and integration of Downer Standard across all BU.
  • Assist with management of Downer Group's key financial risks, providing working capital analysis, modelling and reporting.
  • Drive working capital improvement momentum throughout Downer Group.
  • Point of contact for key stakeholders including BU finance leads, Treasury and Business Shared Services (BSC).
ABOUT YOU:
  • 4+ years' experience in accounting, treasury or business analysis within a medium or large commercial firm or accounting practice.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting along with being CA / CPA qualified or currently working towards completion.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of cash and working capital management to an organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with corporate and partner BU teams.
  • Proven experience in business process improvement, integration and implementation.
  • Ability to collect, distil, analyse and interpret large quantities of transactional and balance data to provide insight.
  • Experience with a large ERP - preference for JDEGS.
  • Proficient in preparing reconciliations with a strong understanding of accounting journal transactions, concepts and reporting.
  • Advanced MS Office Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Takes accountability for deliverables and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • High levels of self-discipline, self-motivation and initiative.
