The Role
The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to support and co-ordinate all data, analytical & reporting requirements across Direct Insurance Pricing teams for IAG's large scale transformation projects (Serenity and PEAS). This role is critical in ensuring that the Pricing teams at IAG continue to have their data and reporting needs met as new technology platforms go-live, as well as benefit from the significant uplifts in data and reporting that these new platforms will enable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and build of an end-to-end pricing process that is best in class for all Direct Insurance products across IAG, with a focus on ensuring pricing teams are supported with fit for purpose data inputs, specifically:
- Define the pricing teams' data requirements for the technical delivery team to build towards under IAG's large scale transformation project, this includes data required for technical modelling, algorithm build and monitoring of pricing outcomes
- Identify and address where requirements require particularly precise specification based on rigorous and specific nature of inputs into technical pricing models and pricing algorithms, ensure that these definitions are clearly documented and accessible to all pricing team members
- Ensure consistency in treatment of data across different pricing teams
- Facilitate user acceptance testing of data objects once passed back to the pricing team to ensure delivered objects can be used for technical modelling and algorithm build. Ensure testing effort is sequenced with items of highest impact to pricing models tested early. Prioritise UAT defects based on impact to pricing outcomes
- Work closely with our stakeholders:
- Engage with the data delivery teams as the transformation project progresses to ensure that the data outputs are on track to provide successful technical claim cost models and algorithm design
- Help develop a high-performance team culture:
- Work with all pricing teams to guide the transition of usage of legacy data sources to new data sources, identify areas where upskilling is required in usage of strategic data assets and help plan and deliver this
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical/analytical skills
- Experience with SAS, SQL, Python or equivalent
- Familiarity with pricing techniques and modelling approaches
- Communication of complex topics in an easy-to-understand way
