Process Optimisation is a function that partners with the business to identify and deliver process optimisation opportunities that will improve BNZ's service to our customers, reduce risk and make it easier for our colleagues to better and more efficiently serve our customers. We sit within the Operations business unit and play a critical role in delivering on the BNZ strategy: to serve customer well and help our communities prosper.

We're looking for a motivated & inquisitive Process Optimisation Delivery Lead to join us in either Auckland or Wellington. You'll work alongside business leaders and teams to identify improvement opportunities and lead the delivery of Process Optimisation engagements resulting in tangible customer and colleague outcomes.

Te Kaiurungi | About the Role

You are responsible for overall delivery and will be the lead across the engagement, including pulling together the Business, Technology and Process Optimisation workstreams, to ensure that the right solution for our customers and business is identified and successfully implemented. This includes:
  • Managing the overall delivery of the PO engagement, primarily for Pega implementation; lead the working group (WG) and the PO resources, responsible for the PO inputs including process design, identifying changes required and benefits.
  • Working with the business and Technology to co-create optimal and practical solutions and ensure that a clear roadmap for future success is delivered.
  • Advising the business through the change journey to support them to meet their responsibility for being prepared for and embedding the process, technology and behaviour changes within their teams.
  • Identifying risks/issues early and work with the relevant owners to manage and mitigate them.
  • Leading the Post Implementation Review (PIR) and obtain sponsor sign off at close out.
  • Challenging the status quo thinking and uplift continuous improvement capability in the teams they work with, through coaching and transferring the basic Process Optimisation skills and thinking to the wider business.
  • Bringing in the outside-in view of what good operations, processes and process management looks like to enable us to point to an aspirational north star.

We are looking for an experienced continuous improvement professional with the ability to build strong relationships and engage with our internal customers in order to understand their needs. You'll also bring experience in:
  • Delivering successful improvement initiatives (5 - 10 years+) in a commercial environment utilising continuous improvement methodologies (i.e. Business Process Re-engineering, Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, etc)
  • Business Operational Management - understanding of how to actively manage processes, develop teams, build capability, set up operating rhythm and drive operational performance improvement
  • Process Measurement - establishes meaningful operational metrics to actively manage the process and demonstrate improvement
  • Managing Change - brings people along with change to deliver excellent change outcomes and able to coach others on this
  • Analysis & Problem Solving - sources and uses relevant information effectively to identify problems and offer sustainable solutions
