As part of this continued growth, we are currently seeking a commercially aware Finance Business Partner to join our team in Brisbane. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance & Business Partners - Pathology, this role will see you also being a crucial member of the QML leadership team, providing critical financial and commercial support to the QML General Manager and other business unit leaders.

Key aspects of this role will include but not be limited to;

  • Providing financial & commercial advice, planning & reporting and analytical insights to the QML Leadership Team in relation to financial and commercial performance.
  • Knowing what drives the business. Undertake extensive financial and operational analysis on key metrics, understand the drivers of the business and generate realisable actions to close variances between actuals and target
  • Ensuring the monthly results make sense, own the monthly forecast process and the annual budgeting process.
  • Playing a key role in the implementation of improvement initiatives developed either at the National or Business Unit Level.
  • Ability to wear two hats as a member of Finance but also a trusted business advisor to QML, showing the ability to challenge the business to improve areas of performance.
  • Working collaboratively with other high performing Business Partners to establish best practice across the company and facilitating rich and valuable communications between the National and Business Unit levels.
  • Improving existing financial reporting capabilities and establishing clear processes, making everybody's life easier with accurate, easy to interpret reporting
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to develop business case for capital expenditure/projects associated with the business unit
  • Development of the finance analyst who reports directly to this role
To be considered for this role your skills and attributes should include:
  • CA/CPA qualified with an extensive post-qualification experience in a business partnering role.
  • Great attitude, strong track record of achievement with a desire to improve the business
  • Ability to operate across the business to create efficiencies in the capture, and analysis and reporting of information (financial & operational)
  • Ability to work in a fluid/agile operating environment, with a willingness to roll up the sleeves and do what it takes to improve the business
  • Presence and a proactive style that builds relationships across all levels of stakeholder groups
  • Comfortable working with uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Track record in being able to breakdown and articulate complex problems, and propose alternative solutions
