We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team as we continue to grow. The responsibilities include completing journal entries, maintaining financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with close processes. This person will play an enormously important supportive role, keeping our firm’s financial outlook bright with precision and proactive measures. The location will be a combination of working remotely and Chicago-based (2-3 days per week).


Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations to verify accuracy of data, and research and resolve any discrepancies
  • Support timely monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations and accruals
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
  • 1 to 3 years of accounting experience
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Critical attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has or plans to pursue Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.)
  • Prior experience working in financial services or professional services
  • Experience with Sage Intacct
