Finatal is working exclusively with a private equity backed manufacturing business who are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join their finance team and work closely alongside the CFO to support with post deal professionalising and international expansion. You will take ownership of implementing and maintaining effective financial control, as well as ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of all finance processes and procedures.

With a high growth trajectory through an aggressive M&A programme, targeting acquisitions in Europe they are looking to take EBITDA from £7m to £25m in 3 years. This is a unique opportunity to join at the start of this project and to gain experience of a full PE cycle / transaction.

The Role:

  • Provide a robust foundation for growth, review of all accounting systems and implement policies where appropriate.
  • Manage finance team (qualified finance manager, credit control, accounts payable)
  • Align accounting policies across the group.
  • Implement consolidation tools necessary for the group.
  • Treasury management and Cash reporting
  • Report monthly management accounts to the Board:
  • Support in the 5-year modelling
  • Deliver clean audit reports within the agreed timetables.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with the Auditor.
  • Support in M&A programme, on-boarding new acquisitions.
  • Support in investment appraisals (capital spend and promotional spend)
  • R&D tax claims and other tax planning opportunities.
  • Flexible and able to roll-up sleeves and get involved in ad hoc projects, analysis and reporting as and when necessary.
  • Support on FX and hedging opportunities.

About You

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge: IFRS and UK GAAP.
  • Experience of European groups / consolidations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
