NA Position Purpose

As part of the Transversal & Synthesis Team ﴾Performance management/FP&A﴿, the position in the production of local management reporting ﴾e.g. board reporting, monthly exco reporting, Strategic Planning, etc.), ensuring that all reports are accurate and completed on a timely basis. In conjunction with analyzing key performance indicators, the position is also responsible to assist in the formulation of system enhancements and process improvements in report production, control procedures, and workflow organization to increase the team's efficiency and effectiveness. Also, responsible for coordinating certain transversal reporting tasks with the assistance of the Client Service Teams which include annual budget and forecast process and other strategic initiatives for CIB Americas, CUSO and the IHC. The position also acts as the main backup to our Mumbai resource.

  • Performance Management reporting - CIB Americas Reporting:
  • ol
    . Coordinate and assist internal management reporting (monthly exco, monthly flash,...) based on data reconciled with Financial Accounting and in full adherence with the Group and CIB methodologies
    . Coordinate and assist team in the analysis and gather comments on actuals (vs. budget, vs. N-1 actuals, vs. business plan, etc.) for CIB Americas scope
    i. Headcount
    ii. Direct managed costs
    iii. Revenues (managed revenues, non-managed revenues, client contributions, intercos, etc.)
    iv. Resources (RWA, Liquidity)
    v. Allocation keys
    vi. HO reallocations
    vii. Other miscellaneous information: Cost of Risk, CIBoT savings, etc.
    viii. Key Metrics: Cost-to-Income, EVC, SV,....
    . Support other key clients on completing various ad-hoc inquiries and reports and inquiries
    . Ensure:
    o Timely distribution / submission of accurate reports
    o Operation, integrity, and control of all reporting tools and processes under the teams' responsibility
    o Complete and adequate controls on Management reporting production process and related documentation (define controls required on internal management reporting so that issues are detected, analyzed, resolved with both corrective and preventive actions defined)
    . Oversee and work together with our Mumbai contact. Be the main contact with our resource in Mumbai (TBC). ol
  • Board reporting/production

    . Assist and prepare quarterly board packages for CIB Audit Committees based on data reconciled with Financial Accounting and in full adherence with the Local Reporting guidelines (US GAAP) with the Group and CIB methodologies (IFRS)
    . Assist and prepare quarterly CIB/AM US GAAP versus CIB/AM IFRS reconciliation.
    . Perform analysis and gather comments on actuals (vs. budget, vs. N-1 actuals, vs. business plan, etc.) for the IHC and CUSO from various finance teams (Client Service Teams, Financial Accounting, BWC FP&A,...)

  • Budgeting and forecasting and Strategic Planning:

    .Assist and coordinate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for CIB Americas & the US holding company (IHC)

    .Prepare ad hoc simulations and analysis to support Businesses and Functions throughout the budget and forecast process
    .Consolidate, maintain and report official budget/forecast numbers to the Regional Management and/or HO
    .Assist and coordinate the reconciliation process between CCAR Baseline and IHC Strategic Planning with CCAR team and Client Service Teams. ol

    .Ensure active contribution to projects involving Performance Management, including but not limited to
    oAutomation projects to help automate and enhance Monthly Exco

    .Ensure adequate archiving and tracking of official reporting produced
    .Contribute to the Finance operational permanent control framework (e.g. perform controls over the PM reporting, contribute to the Finance Internal Control Committee, report incident)
    .Document and keep procedures for the production of all reporting tasks up-to-date
    .Update and maintain static data ﴾i.e. tables﴿ for which the team is responsible
    .Support the team's tools / databases, as well as its reporting templates / models and macros
    .Participate in the upgrades / version releases of respective reporting tools, as well as system amendments / enhancements required to facilitate new / modified reporting requirements. In connection with this effort, assist in user acceptance testing and trouble-shooting after deployment. Technical & Behavioral Competencies
    • At least 4 years of work experience in a Finance department preferably within a global financial services company.
    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS / US GAAP) and business concepts related to Banking industry
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and Microsoft office tools (Access, etc.)
    • Management Accounting / Performance Management experience in Banking industry a plus
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    • Ability to work in a changing and moving environment
    • Curiosity and open to other cultures
    Preferred qualifications:
    • Knowledge of Financial reporting systems and database reporting tools such as Hyperion and preferably with BNP management reporting systems and tools (Vinci, Paradigm, etc.)
    • Knowledge of CIB activities
    • Knowledge of BNP Paribas internal accounting rules and principles
    Specific Qualifications (if required)

    B.Tech/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MBA Finance
    Atleast 3 yrs hands on experience with working on presentation decks to Senior Management, data collation from various sources, extraction and presentation of financial information
