We're looking for a Chartered Accountant to join our committed Business Partnership team. This is a permanent role based in our central Wellington office.
About the role:
Our ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic personality, be customer focused and able to build and maintain positive durable working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role would suit someone with previous relevant experience or a management accountant looking for a shift into a more senior role.
As the Senior Business Accountant, you will:

* Perform financial management support functions for an allocated Business Group and Business Partner, working with General Managers, Managers, Team Leaders, and the wider Finance team.
* Prepare monthly analysis and insights and maintain up to date forecasts.
* Provide support and coaching to managers with the view to raising financial awareness and acumen across the business.
* Assist with the preparation of business cases and communicating and identifying business improvement opportunities.
* Support the Manager of Accounting Services with ad-hoc business projects as they arise.

The Senior Business Accountant reports to the Manager of Accounting Services and works closely with, Finance Business Partners and Business Unit managers across the organisation as well as external stakeholders.
Skills and experience required:
If you are a Chartered Accountant with 3 years plus accounting experience, this could be the role for you.
We would like you to have:

* A passion for building rapport and positive durable working relationships across multiple stakeholders,
* Ability to influence through effective application of knowledge and logic.
* Highly motivated and energised, and able to energise the people around you.
* A working knowledge of the Local Government Act 2002 would also be an advantage but not essential.
