To support the business in managing payroll and benefits administration through consultation, providing advice and guidance, improving efficiencies, and building and maintaining excellent relationships between management and employee.
Essential requirements:

* Working experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
* Proficient in SAGE 300 People payroll and SAP Payroll software packages
Responsibilities::

* Legislative and remuneration compliance
* Pay structuring and planning implementation - salary scales/ bands in line with annual salary benchmarking, etc
* Management of employee benefits
* Payroll input and processing including administration of third-party payments - PAYE, UIF, SDL, Medical aid, Pension Fund, Group Life, Funeral Fund)
* Reporting, filing, and record-keeping - payroll master data reports, manpower cost, and utilization reports, etc
* Employee mobility (local and international relocations) - processing of work visas and permits
* Expatriates onboarding
* Service delivery - manpower budgeting process, HR department budget, and resolution of any payroll-related issues and complaints
* Supervision of team members and monitoring implementation of payroll-related policies, processes, and procedures ensuring compliance
Qualifications and Experience:

* Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Finance
* Certificate in Payroll and Tax Administration
* Minimum of 10 years of in-house multiple payroll processing working experience with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
* Ability to process variable pay aspects i.e. overtime, shift allowances, etc.
* Microsoft Office with advanced MS Excel skills
* Sound knowledge of taxation principles
* Labour relations legislation, knowledge - Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and EE Act
* Understanding of job evaluation methods (preferably Paterson Job Evaluation System)
