Financial Strategy Lead

Interim Financial Strategy Lead - Local Government - 6 months + opportunity

Your new role
I am looking to recruit a newly qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or 1-2 yr PQE, for a 6 month interim basis supporting a local Government organisation in their Return on Investment team, which sits as part of the wider Finance & Governance directorate.
Overall this role is to be strategic financial advisory, planning and support service for the Climate Emergency team including external research and analysis of potential funding sources/innovative ideas.

• 50% of the role will be expected to be a finance business partner
• 50% will be to provide analysis and research support to the Climate Emergency team

What you'll need to succeed
I'm looking for a bright self starter who can work across both Finance and Climate Emergency teams, they will be expected to know the basics of budget control/month end processes, financial modelling plus be able to go and research new funding models (resident loans, grants, collective funds etc), new approaches to climate change (as steered by the Director of Climate Emergency) and be able to present ideas and analysis back to the service and finance management teams in a coherent way. The person doesn't have to have local gov experience I am open to all backgrounds, but they must show a passion for climate change and the willingness to research and learn.
