Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The Market Access Directorate leads market access coordination for strategies and maintains government to government competent authority' functions. The Directorate also works in partnership with sectors to develop clear and measurable market access strategies that help achieve the outcomes of the MPI Strategy with a particular focus on maximising export opportunities.
The Liaison and Cooperation Team plays a key role in liaising across MPI, with Ministers offices, other Government agencies, industry stakeholders, and international partners, to ensure the directorate's market access and related international work programme is well connected and informed, and the programmes' delivery and results are visible and well understood.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Market Access Liaison and Cooperation Team is looking for a Senior Adviser. As part of the Market Access Directorate based in the Policy and Trade Branch, the Liaison and Cooperation Team functions include:

* contributing to the development and maintenance of MPI's trade facing systems;
* supporting the development of market access strategies with supporting analysis;
* influencing international frameworks and standards;
* implementing Free Trade Agreement Sanitary and Phytosanitary Chapters;
* trade responses; and
* developing and implementing technical cooperation programmes.

Mōu - About You
The Senior Adviser will be expected to lead, or contribute to, work in all or most of the Team's functions with an initial focus on supporting the development of Market Access Strategies.
You will need a tertiary qualification in primary production, trade or other appropriate area.
