The Company
The client is a Perth-based, Christian educational organisation that has seen consistent growth due to the services it provides to at-risk youth in the community. At present, the company is in growth mode with over 700 students across more than 20 separate campus locations in both WA and Queensland. The organisation is expanding in both states as the need for its educational services increases. The environment is lively, fast-paced, anti-corporate, supportive and very team-focused with a bit of banter combined with very strong Christian ethics and values.

The Role
Supporting the Director of Corporate Services and providing guidance to the AR/ AP and Payroll team you will be the key qualified accountant on the team responsible for managing the financial matters of the organisation. You will be a crucial component of the team leading the strategic growth and development of the organisation. The organisation is looking for a person who will thrive on streamlining systems and processes and enjoys the challenge of advising and implementing new ERP systems and KPI/Dashboard reporting in collaboration with Senior Management and IT.

Duties will include:
  • Preparation of year-end reporting and liaison with auditors
  • Month-end processing in collaboration with, and providing oversight to, the transactional accounting team of 2 employees
  • Coordinate and compile monthly group financial reports and financial analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and lodgement of all financial acquittal and reporting to external stakeholders
  • Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
  • Business partnering with multiple operational stakeholders to help them understand their financial position and working with them to understand and design KPI reporting tailored to their needs
  • Improving financial systems and processes and reporting to increase efficiencies and better meet the requirements of the Organisation.

About You
You are an energetic and passionate Christian accountant who is hungry to contribute to an organisation that positively impacts the youth it services. You will relish the opportunity to involve yourself in hands-on accounting combined with the ability to have strategic input within a creative, supportive, and committed team in a business that is going to grow significantly over the next few years.

You have a solid technical accounting background, but equally, have some commercial experience in industry or from advising clients within business services. Ideally, you would be a qualified CA/CIMA/CPA/ACCA but those with relevant accounting/commercial experience are also encouraged to apply.
