Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join one of New Zealand's largest advertising and communications agencies. This role provides support to two Finance Managers and assists the wider team with the general accounting functions. To succeed in this role you will bring strong financial accounting experience including compliance, budgeting and forecasting - bonus points if you have Pegasus experience!

This role will sit within our Publicis Communications finance team who support Saatchi & Saatchi, Digitas and MSL.

What will you be doing?
  • Assist with planning and preparation of forecasting and reforecasting.
  • Assist with preparation of timely and accurate financial reports for the senior management teams.
  • Assist with Month End processing and reporting reviews.
  • Liaise with client billing co-ordinators, account service, and Re:sources to ensure debtors are collected in a timely matter.
  • Ensure compliance with Janus Best Practices (Code of Conduct) and statutory financial controls including external/internal audit requirements.
  • Co-ordinating Internal and External FMC compliance audits, for the agencies ensuring documentation is maintained and managed in accordance with Groupe and Brand Policy.
  • Maintain a register of CSR, FMC and other Groupe documentation.
  • Prepare analysis and commentary on revenue, jobs, WIP, head hours and clients.
  • Cash Forecasting - ensuring forecasts are accurate for both short term and longer term.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Assist Finance Manager on continuous improvement projects.

About you
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to confidently and accurately communicate information to and from agency team members.
  • Outstanding organisational abilities. Must be able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines - both for your own specific tasks, and generally for the Finance Department's output.
  • Cares about the last detail. Ensures that all information is accurately recorded and deadlines are met.
  • Is a quick learner. Is able to quickly assimilate information and learn from past experiences. Inquisitive and have a genuine interest in advertising and the impact of the Management Accountant role on various areas of the agency.
  • Proactive and able to work independently. Takes ownership of tasks as relevant (but also knows when to delegate responsibility upward).
  • Work and plays well with others. Knows how to get work through the agency whilst maintaining positive relationships with other departments/members of staff.
