Your new company
Looking to bring on an experienced Finance Director to join their senior management team. You will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to enable robust and well informed business decision making within appropriate controls. Current post holder manages both Bristol & Cardiff branched- open to have 1 person to cover both or 2 candidates- 1 for each office.

Your new role

  • 3-6 month interim FD role starting in July 22
  • £80k equivalent salary- paid as a daily rate
  • inside IR35 - either PAYE or Umbrella
  • £90 million T/O business
  • 20 members of the finance team in total (Bristol & Cardiff)
  • Medical/ Hospital experience would be really helpful but is not essential


What you'll need to succeed

  • CCAB or CIMA qualified accountant.
  • Significant experience gained in a commercial and operationally focused finance role.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Ideally having exposure in a Finance role within the healthcare industry, but this is not essential
  • Hybrid working available
  • This is a full time interim contract role - you must have relevant & recent experience you can provide references for


Jo specifics:

  • Ensure that customer services and processes are efficient, profitable and cash-flow centred.
  • Support the development of the annual business development plan, leading on the financial aspects.
  • Provide financial input into the development and launch of profitable new services to drive growth, embracing change in an ever shifting environment.
  • Monitor financial performance to control costs and drive bottom-line results, implementing the way of working through all financial processes.
  • Monitor and review hospital wide KPI's, developing action plans in conjunction with other leadership team members to drive performance and realise future value.
  • Implement an effective system of internal control and governance throughout the hospital, in line with systems and processes.
  • Lead on preparation and communication of relevant financial reports for the hospital.
  • Manage external partnerships (e.g. CCG's and consultants) to ensure value for money provision and the delivery of mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Promote commercial and financial awareness across the hospital team, enabling the understanding of operational cost drivers, in order to raise profitability.
  • Ensure team is engaged in the Purpose and Values, focussed on delivering their accountabilities to high standards
  • Provide appropriate development activity to raise the calibre of the team.
  • Work with other hospitals and central teams to support consistent financial management across the organisation.
  • Work with the clinical teams to ensure that financial service provision supports delivery to the highest levels of quality.
