The Management Accountant will play a key role in the finance team, responsible for completion of all month end reporting; managing month end close, ensuring accuracy of the ledgers and creating and producing management accounting reports to assist with business decisions.

Description

We are looking for a self-driven, conscientious and well-organised Management Accountant. The Management Accountant will play a key role in the finance team, responsible for completion of all month end reporting; managing month end close, ensuring accuracy of the ledgers and creating and producing management accounting reports to assist with business decisions. The successful candidate will have a strong accounting skillset and experience in a similar role. They will need to be comfortable with developing processes and systems in some areas and able to adapt ways of working to develop the management accounting function. Therefore, ambition, drive and strong problem-solving skills will be essential. A friendly and confident communicator is required in order to develop close working relationships across finance and the operational business.

  • Manage day to day month end close along with the Financial Controller. Including calculation of accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments and journal review;
  • Reconciliation of inventory, sales, and cost of sales;
  • Balance Sheet reconciliation review and improvement, including maintaining the BS Reconciliation RAG matrix;
  • Month end management accounts preparation in conjunction with the Financial Controller;
  • Capex reporting improvements and maintenance of the fixed asset register with the support of one of the Assistant Accountants;
  • Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to develop the management accounting function;
  • Assist with preparation of tax, VAT and papers and schedules to support external reporting and financial statement disclosures;
  • Providing information to external auditors and tax advisors where necessary;
  • Supporting two assistant accountants within the management accounts team;
  • Support of ad hoc reporting as required.

Profile

Essential Experience

  • Minimum qualified accountant CIMA/ACA/ACCA with PQE in a similar role;
  • Strong core accounting skillset;
  • Great organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and work under pressure;
  • Advanced excel skills;
  • Desirable but not essential - Concur, Sage and retail experience.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Offer

Travel requirement - Minimum 3 days a week in the Swindon office longer term Hybrid working pattern available.
Working hours - Basic 40 hours per week however flexibility required according to business demands - WD 1-6 availability essential.
Salary - £45,000 - £50,000
