I am currently recruiting a new Accounts Assistant for a globally leading private education company. This will be a permanent role based in Fulham, South West London. My client operates some of the top private schools in the world, and operate in many different countries.

This role will be based in the office with opportunity to work from home.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is studying either the ACCA/CIMA who is looking to progress their career. My client is also happy to consider AAT studiers.

Description

This is a training position, so the below responsibilities are not what you will be expected to do on day one, but rather what you will be trained to do over time with the business.

The role

The UK region is currently experiencing strong growth and is becoming part of a shared service for Northern Europe. There are currently two schools in the UK and one in Latvia.

Therefore, an opportunity is now available for a Junior Accountant to join the team and help support it during its next stage of development.

This position reports to the UK and Latvia Financial Controller and will be based in Fulham.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Daily posting of bank transactions for 2 Schools plus 2 holding companies.
• Providing daily information on deposits and registration fees to the admissions team.
• Creating Direct Debit files (monthly and termly) for collections in the two UK Schools.
• Assisting the Senior Accountant with Monthly management account packs for the companies mentioned above.
• Posting of journals into JDE including payroll, fixed assets, prepayments, intercompany, accruals etc.
• Assisting with the monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for all GL accounts including and not limited to accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, deposits, other debtor and other creditor accounts, ready to be signed off by FC.
• Assisting the Credit Controller with parent queries during busy times.
• Working with the Billing and Revenue accountant during invoicing to ensure that there are 2 people who understand how the billing cycle works.
• Liaison with external auditors on GL, Banking and transactional queries.
• Working with the COP team for JDE upgrades and testing.
• General admin tasks as opening the post daily, stationery ordering, filing and some other Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Financial Controller

Profile

The successful candidate must have:

• Exposure to the duties above
• Must be studying the ACCA/CIMA/AAT
• Be able to travel to South West London
• Experience with JD Edwards is a bonus, but not a condition

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be paid £25,000 - £28,000 depending on experience. They also offer a study support package and a competitive benefits package.
