Job Description

Our Finance team is split into a number of departments including Commercial Finance, Financial Accounting, External Reporting, Finance Systems, Tax, Treasury and Accounts Payable.

Commercial Finance are responsible for short and long term forecasting of all KPIs, and providing insight and analysis to support or challenge business strategies. The team provides the business with detailed analysis on sales, costs, profitability and behavioural trends and is a vital support function to all departments across ASOS including Retail, Delivery Solutions, Marketing and International Territories.

The Financial Accounting & Reporting team prepares and reports on the historic financial performance of the business (i.e. how much profit or loss ASOS made and how this compares to last year, highlighting risks and opportunities).

This covers both monthly internal reporting & analysis as well as all aspects of external reporting as required for an AIM-listed company under IFRS (e.g. trading statements and external results presentations).

Finance Systems Team’s primary role is to support Financial Control & Reporting and Commercial Finance teams with projects across a wide range of Financial and Business Systems.

Tax - It is the responsibility of the tax department to ensure that the right amount of tax arising from our business activities is paid at the right time.

Treasury primarily manages the group’s cash and foreign exchange amongst a host of other ‘money related’ areas

The Accounts Payable team cover all payments for ensuring all invoices are paid on time.

 

The Role

Our three-year rotational graduate scheme will give you a broad view of our business giving you an insight into the inner workings of the ASOS Finance team. Of the three years, we will look to rotate you to get a varied experience across different teams.

No matter what your role, you will have the opportunity to impact our business and make changes for the better.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Extract & interpret data to measure the success of the business
  • Play a key part in planning & delivering monthly actuals and reforecasting; including setting up monthly meetings, posting accruals and prepayments, analysing variances between actuals and forecasts & maintaining all forecast & cost schedules
  • Support finance team on current initiatives
  • Produce weekly and monthly reporting in a timely and accurate manner, updating the Finance Manager on key highlights and trends
  • Ad hoc analysis

Qualifications

We’d love to meet, someone with…

  • High standard of accuracy with financial and statistical data
  • Commercially aware within the retail industry
  • Ability to be proactive within a fast-paced, dynamic environment susceptible to change
  • Basic Excel skills and computer literate
  • Customer focused
  • Strong communication skills especially with non-finance colleagues
  • Desire to gain a recognised accountancy qualification
