Your role

Are you an experienced senior business analyst with accounting and controlling background and interest in transformation of accounting and financial reporting processes in a multi-GAAP environment.
Are you looking to leverage your technical accounting knowledge and business understanding within an international finance organization? We are looking for a Senior Accounting Business Analyst to:
• support the evolution of our accounting and reporting processes and ledger infrastructure
• drive the analysis, re-design, development and re-engineering of financial accounting and controlling processes in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP accounting requirements and UBS specific Financial Accounting as well as Regulatory Accounting policy considerations
• support to streamline existing booking models, chart of accounts, current systems and processes to implement the next generation accounting and controlling processes that meets daily, intra-month, monthly/ quarterly close and reporting requirements
• work closely with other Legal Entity, Business Division and Group Finance Accounting and Controlling teams globally to ensure the accounting and controlling transformations are fit for LE, BD and Group disclosures and reporting
• apply industry know-how and best practice to ledger processes and ensure delivery of high quality financial and regulatory reporting information
• support the implementation of new accounting and regulatory requirements

As part of the Evo202X transformation journey, which is a GEB sponsored initiative, Accounting, Controlling & Regulatory Reporting Change team has initiated a Program which is aiming at standardizing, streamlining and re-engineering existing accounting, controlling and reporting processes, technology solutions and operating model.

We are responsible for driving strategic and non-strategic but mandatory change initiatives related to financial controlling and regulatory reporting within Group Finance function.

Our team plays a vital role in implementing change ensuring compliance with international reporting and regulatory requirements thereby enhancing the firm's standing with its stakeholders and within the financial industry as a whole.

Your expertise

You are a self-starter, with strong operational accounting background with execution and change delivery focus, including the strong ability and willingness to complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines
• higher education in accounting, or a qualified accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent)
• ideally 7+ years proven accounting experience
• strong business analyst background and experience working with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP, Swiss GAAP) and/ or regulatory standards (e.g. Basel III) implementation
• experience with finance ledger or consolidation systems is critical
• know-how of ledger systems is beneficial (e.g. SAP S/4 HANA or Oracle Financials)
• ability to write business requirements with booking model considerations and test ledger systems and implementation
• ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment including interaction with a variety of stakeholders
• excellent English skills with a clear and articulate style of communication
• highly structured with experience in agile delivery
