The Company

The organisation are expanding rapidly and can offer a very real opportunity for incoming employees to grow and develop within the company. Offices are located towards Melbourne's northern suburbs. Recent acquisitions have fuelled the growth for this business, and they are looking for an ambitious and dedicated Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer for this opportunity. This is an immediate start position, initially on a contract basis. The employer are offering 3 days work from home, with 2 days being in the offices.

The Role

This is a minimum 4-month position (with strong potential to extend) and sits within the core finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. We expect that the role will start on a temporary basis to support the existing Finance team with peak workload, but business growth means the role will likely extend further into 2022.

We are aiming for a quick commencement. Start date as early as Monday the 30th of May.

You will support the wider accounting team and focus predominantly on Accounts Payable and Receivable tasks initially:

Typical day to day duties will involve:
  • Helping with the processing of around 1500 invoices monthly
  • Checking and coding all payments
  • Handling supplier queries and statement reconciliations
  • Monitoring AP inbox for supplier queries
  • Credit card reconciliations
  • Administration support
  • Invoicing and sending statements to customers to prompt payment
  • Actively making calls and sending details to customers behind with payments
  • Reconciliation of accounts and allocation of incoming payments

This role could grow and develop as the company continues to expand. We are targeting ambitious Accounts Officers who want to continue on the upward curve of their careers.

It's a fast paced and ever-changing environment which requires a strong work ethic and ability to hit the ground running. As mentioned, head offices are in Melbourne's north though 3 days can be working from home.

Your Profile

You will have a background in Accounting and Finance with a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:

  • Minimum 1 years Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
  • Comfortable working in Melbourne's northern suburbs 2 days per week (3 at home)
  • Experience working in accounts for a mid-large organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to commence ideally by Monday 30th of May
