Opportunity:

We are seeking a person to join a team within Commodities Quantitative Research supporting the Precious Metals and the Base Metals trading desks. We expect the joiner to share in a balanced mixture of responsibilities, including model research and development, model documentation, development of pricing and risk management tools, product-specific analysis, discussions with the trading desk, sales and control teams.

Core

responsibilities:

  • Developing and enhancing valuation models;
  • Implementing valuation and risk management tools within the Athena platform;
  • Explain model behavior to the users, including trading, sales and control teams;
  • Working in partnership with the sales and trading teams, carrying out scenario analysis, providing guidance on specific transactions;
  • Writing well-formulated documents covering model specification and implementation testing.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities;
  • Deep understanding of options pricing theory;
  • Familiarity with quantitative models used for pricing and hedging derivatives;
  • Strong software development skills, preferably in Python and C++;
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Attention to detail and focus on the quality of deliverables;
  • PhD, Masters or equivalent degree in a technical subject such as Mathematics, Mathematical Finance, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering etc.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Commodity and FX derivative payoffs and pricing models.
