Our client are looking for an immediately available Capital Accountant to join their friendly finance team on a temporary basis. This contract will be a minimum of 3 months long. The candidate is required to attend the Salisbury offices for training for an initial 2 week period, which can be followed by fully remote or hybrid working.

Our client are a large organisation who operate in the public sector. They are looking for a Capital Accountant to join their friendly finance team.

Description

As the Capital Accountant your key responsibilities will be:

• Be responsible for the maintenance and timely updating of the fixed asset system
• Provide support and advice to customers
• Work closely with multiple teams within the organisation, as well as external individuals, to provide an efficient and comprehensive service
• Deal with complex enquiries
• Assist with the Financial Accountant, and cover for them in their absence
• Ensure all VAT issues are dealt with accurately and consistently
• Run monthly depreciation on the fixed asset system and process any adjustments in the financial ledger
• Liaise with project managers
• Undertake routine admin tasks

Profile

In order to be successful for the Capital Accountant vacancy you must:

• Have previous accounting experience
• Have good organisational skills
• Be able to work to tight deadlines
• Be a good communicator, both written and oral
• Good Excel skills
• Good IT skills
• Previous experience in Capital Accounting (desirable)
