Payroll and Accounts Assistant
To work within the Finance Department, to help with the smooth and efficient running of the department, in order that the department meets its targets and the Company its objectives
To process the monthly payroll from beginning to end.
Main Duties:
- To work safely and efficiently within the Company's Health & Safety Policy
- To keep the working area of the post holder tidy
- To ensure that you carry out all your work legally
- To comply with the Company risk assessment strategies
- To carry out all duties in an efficient and courteous manner and ensure all queries are dealt with promptly
- To attend company meetings and training courses as and when appropriate
- To carry out any other duties as may be required by the Company in order to assist the company achieve its objectives
- To adhere to Company methods of work
- To ensure that all paperwork associated with the department is completed correctly and passed to the correct department on time
- To adhere to time schedules and all targets where appropriate
- To process the payroll monthly through to payment (based on weekly and monthly information from managers)
- To prepare and submit payroll reports to the relevant reporting agency
- To perform annual payroll reconciliation and end of year summaries
- To assist with payroll related balance sheet reconciliations
- To ensure the daily system backups are carried out
- To assist with coding of purchase ledger invoices
- To prepare the monthly supplier payment run
- To ensure bank detail changes are processed in line with Company policy
- To assist with posting of purchase ledger payments
- To file all paperwork as required and assist with general support of the purchase ledger function
- To collate, distribute and post credit card transactions on a monthly basis
- Insurance claims management
- Maintain the company vehicle register
- Maintain the motor insurance database
- Maintain company mobile phones
- To carry out any other accounting duties as may be required by the Company in order to assist the company achieve its objectives
