Full Time Bookkeeper Book, Watford
A small but growing accountancy practice in Watford requires a Full Time Bookkeeper with some experience in an accountancy firm or the accounts department of a UK business. The applicant should be bright, enthusiastic, flexible, willing to learn and must have at least one years' experience in accounting. The role will encompass some admin duties so the applicant must be flexible. Other experience considered useful would be in the areas of VAT Returns along with general Microsoft Office and PC skills. Experience of software's such as Sage, QuickBooks and Xero are essential.
The successful applicant will have good numeracy skills and a great telephone manner. They will be a team player who is enthusiastic, organised and uses initiative
ACCOUNTING / OFFICE ADMINISTRATION DUTIES:
- Day to Day Book-Keeping for Charities and Limited Companies up to Trial Balance Level.
- Bank/VAT Reconciliations
- Prepare VAT returns for clients
- Answer, screen and direct incoming phone calls
- Answer calls and take relevant messages
- Other Office Admin work
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent Excel and Word skills
- Previous Book-Keeping experience and ability to prepare a Trial Balance from primary records such as bank statements and invoices etc.
- Show own initiative and be pro active
- Be hardworking and personable
- Be IT literate
- Strong communication skills
Essential Skills:
- Attention to detail and previous experience in data-entry
- Computer literate: intermediate use of Word and Excel
- Good organisation skills.
- Ability to Self-Manage
Working hours will be Monday-Friday 9.00am-5:30pm
Pay Scale will be according to experience and ability
