Role Overview
As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be reporting to the Senior Accounts Payable Officer. You will be responsible for the processing and uploading supplier invoices with accurate and efficient data entry. Your day will include the full function responsibility over accounts payable, entailing preparing EFTs, processing invoices with accurate documentation and reconciling all suppliers accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the company Quality Policy and the requirements of the Quality System are adhered to, that procedures are followed and that the required records are maintained.
  • Process supplier invoices ensuring that all invoices are supported by complete documentation before presentation to Department managers for payment authorisation.
  • Prepare EFTs ensuring that all EFTs issued are supported by complete documentation before presentation to authorised EFT signatories for signing and issue to suppliers.
  • Reconcile all suppliers' accounts to ensure that all supplier invoices issued to the company are accounted for.
  • Facilitate the accurate and timely payment of accounts when due.
  • Vendor Maintenance / Expense Management
  • Maintain the accuracy of information stored in the ACCPAC Accounts Payable module and Batch master (BME).
  • Carry out the month end processing activities associated with Accounts payable and ensure efficacy and the timely delivery of AP month end close.
  • Recommend procedural revisions relating to the operations of the AP department.
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects


Candidate Profile
This experienced Accounts Payable Officer will ideally have experience in manufacturing or a food environment. You have an extensive understanding of Accounts Payable duties and procedures. You can confidently use Microsoft Office and Excel. Your precise and accurate data entry skills and ability to pick up new systems quickly will ensure your success in this role. This Accounts Officer takes initiative and will contribute greatly to a high-performing, close-knit team.
