About the organisation
The VGCCC currently retains all the powers and responsibilities of the former Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR), as the independent statutory authority that regulates the liquor and gambling industries in Victoria. We undertake activities to prevent and detect breaches, also informing and educating industry and the public about regulatory practices and requirements. The opportunity
This role is responsible for leading a small team in delivering the VGCCC's accounting and compliance requirements of administered revenue and general financial and management accounting. The role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining financial policies, building strong relationships and working with all stakeholders to ensure key accountabilities are delivered and developing and maintaining processes, systems and financial models.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will:

* have tertiary qualification in accounting or finance related discipline and full current membership with CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
* have a minimum of 5 years' experience in activity-based accounting, costing and successful delivery of monthly and annual accounting tasks
* demonstrated experience in government, knowledge of the application of government accounting and financial legislation, policies, and processes

Key responsibilities

* Lead, manage and develop a small team
* Lead and manage the end-to-end process for administrated revenue
* Provide authoritative advice to senior management, as well as external agencies
* Drive strategic process improvement to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
