Brief overview of the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our Accounts and Finance Team as an Accounts Payable Business Administration Apprentice. The Accounts Payable Department ensure that all suppliers are paid on time in order to minimise disruption to the supply chain,by giving administration support.
Vacancy description
As an Apprentice within this department, you will learn how to offer support with the day to day running of the department and duties will include:
* Classify and action daily invoices, statements, and correspondence with a sense of urgency and high levels of accuracy
* Timely and accurate input of a high volume of invoices onto the system
* Management of own accounts, providing a trustworthy and confidential service.
* Making payments to vendors
* Negotiating extended periods of pay, taking a flexible and adaptable approach
* Regular statement reconciliation and purchase ledger housekeeping
* Build and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers
* Liaising with internal and external suppliers/customers to resolve queries
* Ensure continual communications to develop internal customer relationships
* Any other duties in line with business and departmental needs.
Desired skills
* Some experience in purchase ledger would be an advantage
* Good telephone manner
* Customer and commercial awareness
* Ability to work well within a team and on own initiative
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Judgement and decision making skills
* Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

Desired Qualifications:
A miminum of GCSE Maths and English 4/C or equivalent
Working Hours/Wage:
Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm with half hour unpaid lunch
Total hours per week: 40.00
£4.81ph x 40 = £192.40 per week
Future prospects
Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be an opportunity of permanent employment with further learning and progression
