About the role

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a motivated, organised, and passionate individual to work with the Management Accounting Team of Legal Aid as part of the Finance business unit.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant and Corporate Reporting Officer, the Management Accountant provides management accounting services, advice and assistance to support effective financial management and decision making. Key activities include management accounting, budget support, budget management, financial and budget performance, budget analysis, costing and modelling, financial reporting, business case development.

The Management Accountant is a demanding role with tight timeframes to respond to both internal and external stakeholder's requests. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated and have strong analytical and problem- solving skills. The role is the contact for internal stakeholders including the senior executives, cost centre managers within Legal Aid WA. The position also liaises with the Legal Assistance Branch at WA State Department of Justice, the WA State Department of Treasury, and the Office of the Auditor General.

  • Well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
