GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Works directly with our Business Partners and Senior Analysts to perform analysis to support business objectives. Gather, prepare, analyze and summarize data from multiple systems for management's reference in strategic development. This role will use a variety of techniques including simple data aggregation and statistical analysis to prepare reports of findings.

Will be involved in the creation of both repeating and adhoc reporting using Excel, PowerBI and SQL. Offer advice and guidance in the creation of reporting to our business partners while building to their specifications to assist with the operations of the department.

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

Perform the following job duties and responsibilities in accordance with corporate policy and procedures, within established timeframes:

  • Create data storytelling, converting data into usable information to assist the Credit Union in making data driven decisions.
  • Assist Leadership and Senior Analysts with complex analysis, using data to add value to our business partners.
  • Assist with preparation of documentation of analysis using Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint to create a report of findings.
  • Using PowerBI, create visuals that will assist Senior Management with business decisions.
  • Manage required ad hoc report preparation, analysis and presentation to management as reference for strategic decisions, committee review and other information requests.
  • Using PowerBI, Excel and SQL, aggregate multiple data sources into a single story to summarize the results of a review into actionable points for Senior Management.
  • Assist with automation of Excel based reports
  • Assist with requirement gathering using interviews, document analysis, use cases, scenarios and workflow analysis.
  • Participate in team projects.
  • Continue to expand on an understanding of lending/deposit rates, policies and procedures impacting responsibilities.
  • Update procedures in response to changes in operational activities or technological upgrades.
  • Perform reviews or validations of Business Intelligence Analyst I work prior to, or in lieu of, review by Team Leadership.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy act (BSA) and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations and systems of internal control.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills required to prepare reports and perform other related tasks.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.

  • INTERNAL: All levels of staff and management.
  • EXTERNAL: Vendors, other financial institutions or business sources.

  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty (Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration, Information Technology or similarly quantitative/analytical degrees). Equivalent work experience with required knowledge/skills may be substituted for degree.
  • EXPERIENCE: 1 - 5 years or more of progressive banking/credit union experience. 1 - 5 years of Analytical Experience. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within credit union operations.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
    • Functional:
    • Functional Knowledge in the following: Federal Rules and Regulations as applied to credit unions; Golden 1 Products; Golden 1 Employee handbook.
    • Intermediate knowledge in the following areas: Golden 1 Policies and Procedures; Lending concepts; Retail Branch Banking; Corporate Finance - ROI, Break Even Analysis; Compliance Reporting.
    Technical:
    • Intermediate knowledge in the following systems/applications (required): Microsoft Excel- Formulas, functions, pivot tables; dashboard creation, data connections and basic macros; Microsoft Power Point; Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook- Email, Calendar, Task; Microsoft Teams; PDF Creation/Editing (Nitro Pro).
    • Intermediate knowledge in the following systems/applications (preferred): Microsoft Power BI - Building Visuals using existing Datasets, and understanding of Power BI Desktop; SQL Programming - Select Statements, Joins, Aggregating Data, and Querying; DataSafe.
    • Basic knowledge in the following systems/applications (preferred): SAS Enterprise Guide - Use of tools to import and manipulate datasets; VBA Coding to support automation of tasks.

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.

  • Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.
