ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Mazars is a large global accounting firm servicing several prestigious international clients. This opportunity is a secondment position working on site with one of our clients, who is a well-known global luxury group in the fashion industry.

After the secondment is completed this position relocates to work for Mazars, a public practice, undertaking similar services of a number of our international clients based out of our North Sydney office.

About the job:

• Preparation of journal entries together with supporting workings
• Bank reconciliations
• Intercompany reconciliations
• Assistance with the completion of month end;
• Reviewing accounts payable reports
• Processing and reconciliation of all supplier invoices if required
• Validation and processing of all credit notes and credits if required
• Preparation of aged creditor reports and other key reports for management
• Assist with SAP migration as may be required
• Other ad hoc tasks as and when required;
• Keep manager informed of progress and any issues arising

About you:

• 3 - 7 years' experience working in an accounting position related role ideally within the retail or distribution industry
• Completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent)
• Ability to work to tight time schedules
• Proficient in MS office
• Experience working within JDE or SAP will be an advantage but not a requirement
• Strong numerical and IT skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
• Willingness to learn
